The sunflower field on Culver Road in Pittsford is a very popular spot for photos. On any given day when the flowers are in full bloom, you can see families gathered for group photos, or you can just find curious photographers, like me, tromping around capturing the beauty of these flowers.  Late this summer, I had the opportunity to photograph two couples here as part of their engagement package. I shot Chris and Christina just a few weeks before their September wedding and Josh and... Continue reading

Several years ago, my wife was reading an article about America's top beaches and learned that the beach on Ocracoke Island, in North Carolina's Outer Banks, was on that list of top spots.  So, we decided to make it our family vacation that year to check it out.  That was 2007, and since then we have made four trips to the Outer Banks, each time appreciating even more the island's beauty.  We love the simplicity of the Outer Banks, the laid-back, relaxing, and non-commercial... The PGA Championship was held at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, August 5-11, 2013.  It was amazing to have the best golfers in the world right here in Rochester, and it was an awesome event.  I was especially happy to share this experience with my two sons, Chris and Kevin, and my wife, Peggy.  We particiated in the fours days of the tournament and also the three days of practice rounds before the tournament started.  During the practice rounds, you are allowed to bring... The 2013 LPGA Championship was held in June in Rochester. This is a special event for me, because, like last year, my son, Chris, was able to get me a press pass to shoot the final round of the tournament. Chris is working part time as a sports writer at the Livingston Country News, a weekly newspaper in Geneseo, NY, and we got to do this assignment together. It was a perfect day to shoot, and the excitemenet of the tournament made this a lot of fun to do. Chris is all about sports; he lives... Continue reading

My wife and her sister decided to pay a visit to their brother and his family in North Carolina this weekend, and with both of our boys away at college, I had an entire weekend to myself. So, when the cat's away the mice will play, and in my case, it was time for me to spend time shooting. My camera has been calling me for a few weeks, so I was happy to head out on a local photo adventure. I'm convinced that some of the best photography can happen within just a few miles of your home. I... Continue reading

Winter is a great time for photography, fast become one of my favorite times of the year to shoot.  The few major snow falls we've had this year have left behind a beautiful landscape that has been almost Christmas card quality.  I traveled around the area a couple of different times this season to see what Mother Nature had left behind.  Check out the photos below.

How can you not love that face? Susanna is the adopted daughter of my friends, Heather and Dennis. She was brought to the U.S. from China in September 2009. Susanna is a very happy child who is full-of-life, and you will easily fall in love with her huge smile and great laugh. I've been friends with Heather and Dennis for over 25 years, when Heather and I worked together for a short period of time in the mid 80s. We have remained good friends since then. This was my second photo session with... Continue reading

My nephew, Stephen, and his fiance, Catherine, were married on October 20, 2012. There's nothing better than a family wedding, and I was very proud to be their official photographer! Stephen and Catherine were married at the Immaculate Conception Church in East Aurora and the reception was held in downtown Buffalo. Stephen is the son of my wife's sister, Mary Jo, and her husband, Paul. Stephen was raised in East Auora, and Catherine, whose parents are from Sri Lanka, was raised in Toronto. The... I recently had a chance to reconnect with friends, and former wedding clients, Dave and Nikki, and their son, Daniel. I first met Dave and Nikki in 2007, when we sat down to discuss their September 2008 wedding plans. Dave and Nikki had an awesome, very memorable wedding, and I am happy we have stayed in contact. I have greatly appreciated the referrals Dave and Nikki have given me over the years, including Nikki's brother, Jay, who got married last summer.I was glad Nikki contacted me about... One of the best times of the year for photography in Western New York is, without a doubt, the fall. For photos, the fall comes and goes pretty quickly, requiring some advance planning. The day I went out was overcast, and I didn't think it was going to result in very good photos. But an overcast day, with an ocassional sighting of the sun, can work to your advantage.Even though it was past peak, I headed out to Letchworth State Park, one of my favorite places in New York, to see what the color...
